What is SQUID?
SQUID, or Spinning QUad Ionospheric Deployer, is a student project aiming to develop a rocket probe and to prove the functionality through a rocket launch. The probe is supposed to in the future be a part of a larger platform, involving multiple payloads, measuring electromagnetic fields in the earths Ionosphere. The project is a part of the REXUS programme, which is a cooperation between Swedish national space board, the german counterpart DLR and the European space agency, allowing student experiments to be launched with sounding rockets from ESRANGE in Kiruna.
